Any child care center that is licensed by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services must also have a child care center permit from the City of Garland. The fee for a child care center permit is $100 per year. A child care center that currently also has an active food establishment permit with the City of Garland will not incur any additional fees for the childcare center permit (the food establishment permit is $400 per year).
If the child care center is operated by a governmental agency, independent school district, non-profit agency, or church, the permit fee is waived.
